The Lighthouse Chapter exists for the purpose of providing professional development and fellowship through training, certification, and the sharing of experience and ideas. To encourage the free exchange of ideas, information, and innovations among members of the cable television industry and the communcations industry at large.
The Lighthouse Chapter was created in 1991 under the sponsorship of the
New England Chapter. Our group started meeting in August 1991 and has provided a local forum for a wide range of topics relative to the cable industry. We attained chapter status in 1993 after sucessfully completing the requirements by SCTE. Since our inception, we have provided SCTE certification to our local members in Maine and New Hampshire. The Lighthouse Chapter continues to provide meeting opportunities to the Maine and New Hampshire area. Our
Board of Directors consists of 18 members representing Time Warner Cable, Comcast, MetroCast Cablevision, Bee Line Cable, Times Fiber, The University of Maine, JDSU and Corning Gilbert. Five of our members have been on our Board since the beginning. Since our inception we have continued to provide a forum of training and certification for our members.
