Large Navigational Buoy at the Columbia River Maritime Museum. This fully automated buoy was designed to safely mark the entrance of the Columbia River. It replaced the Lightship Columbia and her crew in 1979. The buoy is 60 feet tall and has a 1,000 watt light, fog horn, and radio beacon. Two diesel engines and large batteries kept it all running.
Interesting shot of the moss covered dock near the Columbia River Maritime Museum
There was fog layer just off the coast and Tillamook Rock Lighthouse kept poking through and then hiding again. Wanda got this shot after much patience...nicely done!
