2021 Maine Tour

This tour has been rescheduled from 2020 to 2021.  Please check out the new dates.  Fall is a great time to visit Maine, and the lighthouses are spectacular.  This tour starts and ends in Portland, Maine, and covers the region south to Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and north to Owls Head in Maine's Midcoast, with a total of about 30 lighthouses in 7 days.  

Join us for a fabulous time and a chance to have that tasty Maine lobster.


Day 1 - October 1, 2021 - We will meet at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Portland, Maine, for our Welcome Dinner.

Day 2 - October 2, 2021 - In the morning we will board a boat  from Rye, New Hampshire, for a cruise to see Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse, Whaleback Lighthouse, Isles of Shoals (White Island) Lighthouse, Boon Island Lighthouse, and Cape Neddick (Nubble) Lighthouse. After the cruise we will tour Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse in New Castle, NH – a light station that’s celebrating its 250th anniversary this year. On the way north we’ll stop to see Nubble Lighthouse – one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world -- from land. We’ll head to Cape Elizabeth for a view of the Two Lights, and then back to the Ramada Plaza Hotel.  We will have dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 3 - October 3, 2021 - In the morning we will visit Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse then on to Portland Breakwater (Bug) Light.  After lunch we will arrive at Portland Head Lighthouse, the most photographed lighthouse in the world.  We’ll then visit Hendricks Head Lighthouse. We’ll stay that night in a hotel in Rockland in the Midcoast.

Day 4 - This day we go to Maine Lighthouse Museum in the morning, and then we’ll go to Owls Head Lighthouse, the headquarters of the American Lighthouse Foundation. We finish the day at Marshall Point Lighthouse and Museum and then head back to our hotel.

Day 5 - October 5, 2021 - A full day boat ride today to see Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse, Indian Island Lighthouse, Curtis Island Lighthouse, Grindle Point Lighthouse, Dice Head Lighthouse, Pumpkin Island Lighthouse, Eagle Island Lighthouse, Deer Island Thorofare (Mark Island) Lighthouse, Goose Rocks Lighthouse, Browns Head Lighthouse, and Owls Head Lighthouse. Back to the hotel and dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 6 - October 6, 2021 –We’ll have a boat ride from Bath today to see Burnt Island Lighthouse, Ram Island Lighthouse, Cuckolds Lighthouse, and Seguin Island Lighthouse.  We continue up the Kennebec River to view Pond Island Lighthouse, Perkins Island Lighthouse, Squirrel Point Lighthouse, Doubling Point Range Lights, and Doubling Point Lighthouse.  After the boat ride we will board the bus for Pemaquid Point Museum and Lighthouse.  We will then head back to the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Portland. Our farewell dinner will be at a nearby restaurant.

Day 7 - October 7, 2021 - Breakfast and then Departure for Home.
