Facility: Volunteers share a fully equipped 6 bedroom keepers' dwelling. Those with RVs can make reservations at either North Head
Campground or The Anchorage (parks are busy-reserve early!). Opportunities are available from late April through the end of May and
September to mid-October. Limited opportunities available in June, July and August. Minimum stay is one week, maximum stay is two
weeks. Children and pets are not permitted in the Volunteer Keepers Program. Lighthouse and keepers' dwelling are located on a peninsula
accessed by foot down 55 concrete stairs, across a high wooden bridge and along a graveled path and boardwalk. The distance is
approximately 1000 feet from the parking area. Grand Manan Island has a daily toll ferry service from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Fog is common
and the fog horn sounds every 20 seconds.
Duties: A minimum of 6 hours/day over the course of five days are required, giving ample time to explore the island and work on personal
projects. Spring duties include maintenance (cleaning buildings, scraping, painting, yard/trail work, basic carpentry), setting up museum and
gift shop for season, lighthouse tours as requested and during scheduled opening hours. September and early October duties include work in gift
shop, museum, lighthouse tours as requested and during scheduled opening hours, end-of-season grounds/trail maintenance and winterizing facilities.

Facility: A renovated fisherman’s home, originally built in the early 1900s. Open from late spring to early fall.
The Inn has four rooms, each with a double bed and private washroom/shower.
